TERMS OF HIRE

Terms & Conditions

Last updated 1 October 2026

01About these terms

These terms apply to every hire of equipment from AlexMediaUK (“we”, “us”) by the person or organisation named on the booking (“you”). By ticking the box when you send a quote request, you confirm you have read and accept them.

02Quotes and bookings

Sending a quote request through the website is not a booking. Your hire is confirmed only once we have confirmed it in writing and received any deposit due. Quotes are valid for [X] days.

03Hire period

The hire runs from the agreed collection or delivery date to the agreed return date. Equipment returned late may be charged at the daily rate for each extra day.

04Collection, delivery and return

Equipment must come back complete, clean and in its original cases at the agreed time. We cover a 50-mile radius from our headquarters in Blackburn, Lancashire; jobs further away can be discussed and may carry additional travel costs, agreed in your quote.

05Looking after the kit

You are responsible for the equipment from the moment it leaves us until it is back with us. It must only be used by competent people, in line with the manufacturer’s guidance, and must not be modified, sub-hired or lent to anyone else.

06Loss and damage

You are liable for loss, theft or damage beyond fair wear and tear during the hire period, at the cost of repair or replacement. Tell us about any fault straight away and do not attempt repairs yourself.

07Insurance

We recommend you hold insurance covering hired-in equipment for its full replacement value for the whole hire period. [We may ask to see proof of cover before release.]

08Payment and deposits

[Deposit amount or percentage.] [When the balance is due.] [Accepted payment methods.] [Whether prices include VAT.]

09Cancellations

[Notice periods and the charges that apply to each.]

10Full technical support

Where full technical support is booked, our crew deliver, set up, operate and pack down the equipment. You must provide safe access, suitable power and reasonable working conditions at the venue.

11Electrical safety

[How and when equipment is tested before hire.] The venue’s power supply is your responsibility unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

12Liability

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or the cancellation of an event because of equipment failure. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
